I have a creation Motorsport short shifter that I have been trying to fit, but I can't get the nut off the standard shifter, it was mega tight to start with, I loosened it, but now it's just turning and not coming off?

Any ideas are grateful

All i can suggest is get a junior hacksaw on the threaded bar and saw the nut off. Just make sure there's going to be enough thread left to fit a new nut.
