gtb2260

Featured Replies

to those who got 1 or are looking wheres best place to buy reasonable priced

Are you using a tubular manifold aswell?

Just a question regarding the GTB2260, if I was to use a darkside manifold, would I have to buy a new downpipe or will my milltek fit onto it okay?

The first time I went to 2260, I cut and shut the 2260 downpipe flange on to my original downpipe.  If you have a non 2260 downpipe now, it will not fit the 2260 turbo.  Totally different design (Bigger to start with! :D)

Since then I have fitted the 3" darkside 2260 specific complete downpipe. :)

Ahh I see, that's another amount of money I didn't consider I would have to spend.....

The flange to fit the 2260 is easy to get hold of,then all you need is a piece of pipe to increase the diameter of the Miltek front pipe to 2.5 inch :)

Its 2.5 inch from the flexi in the downpipe back,so no need to buy a complete downpipe ;)

Look at silky16's thread on his polo,he modified his downpipe himself.

I was lucky my old DP was 2.5" already, so the flange was a perfect fit to just cut and shut. :)

where can i get the flange?

Hmm, I think Darkside sent me one with the turbo when I bought.  Something like £20 from memory for the flange with right bolt pattern for the studs on a 2260

where can i get the flange?

As above, darkside or xman can supply them.

Two diff types though, so you need to know the stud pattern on your 2260 exhaust housing ;)

Just another question in regards to intercooler pipe work, does the original pipe fit or will a replacement be require, sorry for the noob questions, just looking into the conversion myself and not sure what other part's would be required.

You will need to make up pipework to fit, the gtb's use a normal turbo outlet, the type you just slide a pipe over and use a hose clip to hold it on.

Also depending where you get your gtb from will depend if you need to cut off the turbo outlet pipe on compressor housing and get it rewelded on coming off the compressor housing straight, as standard the gtb outlet points down and once fitted to a Fabia there is not much room between turbo and driveshaft.

Few pics of whats needed to fit a gtb in my work in progress thread :)

Will have a nosey over at it now, most likely buying the xman GTB already converted and mate it with a darkside manifold

Sorry to bump this back up, found out that Milltek downpipes are 2.5" so I only need to weld the new flange on then to suit?

From the flexi back they are,not between flexi and flange onto turbo.Unless they have changed the design?

Look at silky16v's for sale thread of GTB set -up,you can see in the pics where he has made his 2.5 right upto the turbo :)
