Lowering and changing rim and true size

Featured Replies

I've recently bought a fabia and wondering if I should lower the car and increase the alloys to 17 with low profile tyres, I have normal tyres 205/45r16w ATM

Is it worth doing? Or could I keep it as it and put 17 rims and low profiles tyres?

I'm very new to this and would love some direction thanks!

Tires want to be 205/40/17 depending on the width of rim. .

Id recommend lowering too or itd look silly and like a roller skate.

Okay thanks how much would you lower it by? Is it much hassle?

Theres various options, all depends on the ride quality you want too.

Theres eibach lowering springs which give a 25mm drop (makes it look how it should have in the first place in my opinion because there just too high as standard) or coilovers. . Which are adjustable to what height you want to run. . Im sure someone could advise on a good set dependant on budget,(joms start at like £200,but different brands run upto 1k+) I ran weitec hicon gt for a while and they were awsome, still comfortable at a looow setting.

And no its not a difficult job providing you have a decent selection of tools.

Slight drop (15mm) eibach pro springs

Medium drop (10mm more) - apex / weitec / ap springs

Big drop - coilovers

If it was me doing it all over again id opt for the medium drop
