Octy MK3 to Superb

Featured Replies

Thinking of changing my Octy MK3 for a superb Elegance What thoughts do any have? Cost spec etc

Already!? The Octavia MkIII hasn't been out for very long. What's the reason for the early change?

Assuming you'll be looking at a brand new (facelift) Superb then I think you'll be happy making the transition.

The Octavia is quite a bit newer and therefore has a few more technologically advanced options but the Superb Elegance does not often leave anyone longing for additional creature comforts.

The boot will be a similar size, the real bonus with the Superb is rear leg room.

Due to the price hike of the Octavia MkIII from the MkII I think the costs are relatively similar compared with the Superb.

Are you thinking of the estate or the twindoor? Some question the Marmite looks of the Twindoor but I love mine (pre-facelift), the latest facelift has improved things though!

Is it the 140CR Octavia you currently have?  Is additional space your priority or are you looking for more comfort and spec?  I've driven the new Octavia and it is a very good car but the Superb is in a different league in terms of comfort and driving experience. Pricewise you will obviously pay more (around 3-4k more) for, say a 170 Superb over a 150 Octavia.  The spec is excellent on the elegance model - full leather, sat nav, xenons, heated seats plus much more - the Skoda website has the most up to date specs.  One thing I would point out is that you will find some more up to date equipment on the new generation Octavia like a better touch screen as this is a brand new model versus a facelifted Superb.

Running costs are very good and I have found running my last two Superbs to be roughly the same as my previous diesel Octavia.

If you can go for the Superb, it will be worth the little extra and you will have a much more upmarket car - but we will all probably say that on this forum of couse

Overall cabin space did it for me over the octavia

I went the other way and I miss the comfort quietness and long distance cruise ability of my Superb's. The VRS is a great car love how it looks, the tech and the pace. I am due a change later this year do I change back hmmmm!!! Ain't the mk3 Superb out next year? What to do.
