Hi guys. Its been a while since ive done any major cleaning/detailing so looking for a bit of advice.

Ive read through alot of info but to bw honest i'm more confused now than i was to start with.

What i'm looking for is a group of products that are easy to apply by hand (for now). Heres what i'm thinking

Wash - apc g101? Followed by megs gold class shampoo

Polish - gtechnic p1

Wax - no idea. Only ever used megs liquid wax. Whats better for limited budget (£15-£20)

Topped off with sonax bsd.

This will hopefully be a weekly routine (work permitting)

Thanks in advance gav

Good idea to include a claying/decontamination stage, using a tar remover (Autosmart Tardis, Auto Finesse Oblitarate), then fallout/iron remover (Carpro Iron-X), then clay the car before polishing. As for wax for £15-£20, I'd recommend Collinite 845, easy to apply and lasts ages, can easily get 6 months out of it.

Doing all of it weekly is possibly unnecessary.

Full apc and polish is probably only every 3 to 6 months.

If you then wash and Sonax bsd should be great. Even then bsd only needed every 3 washes ish.

Absolutely no need to polish and wax every week

A good wax lasts a few months, but can be topped up when you feel the need

For the initial one fine, I would wash/clay/polish/seal and wax

Then weekly, just wash and every 2-3 months top up the wax

Just my suggestion anyway

And seeing as though your in Sheffield too, you can do mine :D

Cheers guys. I'll see what i'm allowed to spend :)

I'll see what the weather is like this weekend. Hopefully be able to make a start

As already said

Any wax or sealer ...then every 3 washes apply some Sonax BSD

You wont need to rewax/reseal for months

Unless you have OCD and do every time you wash!     :giggle:

Only had my car a few weeks and I do like to wash it...

And I do like to get into all of the nooks and crannies that I would of just completely ignored and not even registered as being dirty or dusty in my previous car! OCD does start to spring to mind.

If OCD was a football team....Alan and I would be in the Premier League
