I have a 2007 plate and for some reason the drivers & passenger windows just no longer work. Its been like that for a few months now & I have looked on here to help me try and solve the issue myself but I haven't been successful in finding any advice. Now my rear wiper won't work either.

If this isn't the right place to post the please accept my apologies. I'm not that new to Briskoda, as I brows much more than I comment. I really hope someone can help me. Cheers

Without sounding obvious, have you checked the fuses?? Start there.

With regards to the windows, could be the switch...check it is still plugged in firmly and/or see if a local member would allow you to try theirs in yours...

Yeah all the fuses have been swapped about with other fuses that I know work. - luckily I found that I had a 20amp in a 15amp so I sorted that too. I'm thinking it maybe the switch, but both windows stopped working at the same time.

The rear wiper is most recent, it doesn't really get used anyway but I'd like it sorting. Also can you get a washer jet separately to the motor as I have just broken off the nib... Nice one Dave....

Sounds like you need the drivers window motor, easiest way to check is see if you can move the wing mirror glass with the switch and if it moves you need a new window motor. Mine hasn't been working for about 6 months as a new one is £161!!! There's a few different motors so be careful if you get one off ebay as I've bought the wrong one before and can't get the one I need :(

Cheers for your reply Kyle. Would the drivers window motor stop the passenger side from working too? I have been told that the drivers is the primary & runs the passenger... I have considered buying a new motor but the prices are expensive & the scrap yards don't seem to have a clue.

Any ideas on the rear washer & the spray jet, with the nozzle / nipple under the cap breaking. I can provide pictures if people need them.

Drivers motor controls both windows. Exactly same fault as mine, doesn't work with key etc. If you've got the 2 plug motor good luck finding a 2nd hand motor, I've been looking for about 6 months now. I'm off to Florida next month so I ain't paying £160 for a new one!! If yours is the other motor to mine then you'll pick a motor up piece of ****, there's a fabia being broken in the parts for sale bit with the wrong motor to what I need.

Not sure on the washer I never use my rear wiper so not looked at it lol

I've emailed a couple of places looking for a motor, I've had a couple of replies back (One company replied to my email twice with different quotes £70 & £95, Needless to say I will be trying not to use them thieves ha)!! I need to take the motor out and get the exact number from it, pictures etc.. So I get the right one. I have been trying to do it today but the rain just won't budge long enough. PM me a picture of yours and I will shop about for one for you too - Picture just incase there's a slight chance that theyre both different.

 

Off topic, where abouts are you going in Florida? I'm there for two weeks in October. Mainland Miami for a few days, Orlando (Universal) for two days and the rest in South Beach on Ocean Drive. Bagged myself a little apartment on there. Pool, sea view etc...

I found it easier to unscrew the door card and lift it up to take a picture of the motor. I'm not 100% sure if the window drops when removed so safer to do this if you've not got a new one to go on. This is my part number and I'm pretty sure when I rang tps the 001 was of significance

I bought this off matty on here as it had the same part number but with a A on the end but this had more plugs than mine

I've tried motor hog etc but they were around £100 and not very clear on plugs etc so I decided against it.

I'm staying in a villa in Florida and hired a motor, not sure on exact location but have got passes for disney land, universal studios and Busch gardens. Never been before but looking forward to it, just saving like mad as my little girl is after loads of frozen stuff from disney land!!!

Well you'll have to let me know how universal studios was and how your holiday went. I'm sure the little one will enjoy it. Its my second time to Florida but I only stayed in South Beach (lads holiday) last time. Going with the girlfriend this time so it won't be. Mad one like last time ha.
