Yay or nay?

Recommended Posts

Just been to look at the one in plymouth and I'm very disappointed. Scratches all over it, one of the wheels was nearly on the limit, another wheel needs to be refurbished, the mats were worn. I'm gutted guess I will have to keep searching

Frankly, bonkers

I'd value mine less than £4k, its a bit of a high miler (well nowadays more like average miles TBH). I know some would say it would push closer to £3k but I'd never sell it for that.

Now if you are telling me I'd have to pay almost twice again for a car just for one slightly newer, and with a few less miles on it, with different seats and a number stitched into it in blue, you are stark staring mad.

This interests me so much I thought lets take a look what you can get for around £6.5K to 7K + on ebay!! Lets also not forget, I actually love my Skoda and not getting down on the SE, but I'm just realistic about it being an older car like mine

From the sound of it I bet there are quite a few rotters out there that ain't even up to the condition of mine either, and just cos its SE doesn't mean its worn old pistons smoke smells any more of roses than mine!

So just being a bit pragmatic on this

Cheers buddy. Basically 7k is my budget. The car must be diesel, 130bhp minimum and have leather seats. Not sure what to get. Nothing catches my eye apart from the se

Probably a dubious ad (its ebay) not taking the ball off an SE, just suggesting, be more patient and get one for closer to what they are probably worth !

Appreciating - I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

If 2 years down the line from here they are worth as much as £7k then you can make me eat my words.

Depreciate a little bit less fast than my model, yes I will buy that. But that should mean in a couple of years someone could also get an SE for the £3-4K mark.
