km/l instead of l/100km

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Does anyone know how can I set the car to show km/l instead of l/100km?

I don't have the PID.

Thanks,

Lior

I don't think its possible as its not an officially recognised fuel measurement. in the EU the recognised measurements are Miles per Gallon or Litres per 100KM and nothing else.

Using KM/L would result in a small value that could be to inaccurate when scaled up.

Wrong.

Your dealer could do it with their tester, or anyone with an updated VCDS cable. Mine is showing km/l instead of the useless l/100 km, and is perfectly accurate. Was carried out by the dealer prior to me picking up the car last week.

In most cases it can be done, but there are some markets/country settings where the setting is ignored. There is no problem with the accuracy of any averages but the instantaneous is slightly less accurate (instantaneous readings for all units have a slight error - there is a compromise between update speed and accuracy).

I go own VCDS cable, do you happen to know where I can find this option?

Thanks,

I don´t remember the exact location; but look under instruments --> adaption. The old "setting the countrycode to Japan" might Work as well.

Hi,

I found the way to change l/100km to km/l.

Two options are avalible:

1. using the Coding - 07 screen -> change region to Japan.

2. using the Adaptation - 10 screen -> change Units (I don't remember the exact parameter but it's easy to locate) - Consumption to km/l

Thanks,

Lior

Just out of interest why would you want to change I am sure you have a perfectly good reason.

Because only germans thinks L/100 km is logical :) :)

Its common all over the world a set standard easy to understand and gives figures that the layman can understand.
