Wiring in Audi S3 seats

Featured Replies

I have just got a set of S3 seats in my vRS the only issue is that my vRS seats had airbags. Now from doing a bit of research I believe that it is not possible on the mk1 to 'code out' the seat airbags with vcds.

The other issue is that although I cut the airbag connectors off my old seats the wires are different colours on the s3 seats so I am not sure which wires to connect to what.

I am now looking at going down the resistor route and wanted to check what others have done as I know a lot of others have fitted s3 seats without issues.

Is a 2 watt 4.7ohm resistor correct for the job as suggested by other forums?

Thanks

Anybody know as I was hoping to buy the resistors tomorrow.

Thanks

I heard using a 501 capless sidelight bulb will do the trick.

There isn't enough voltage to light it up, but it gives enough resistance to put the airbag light out.

Never needed to try it myself though.

Wonder what else a bulb could be used for on a 1.8t

Okay thanks mate I see you are doing it the other way around. Where abouts did you get the connectors to fit the s3 seats? Have you had any issues since these have been fitted?

Hi mate, they guy who sold me the S3 interior got me the connectors off of the breaking car...I then just cut my original connectors and solder the S3 ones.I have no issues since then!

Right I have tried the resistor method and it has worked once the fault code was cleared.

Incase anybody reads this in the future then you know it works by using a 3w 4.7ohm resistor.
