Hello. I have viewed this site as a guest before and have picked up one or two tips, so I would like to thank my now-fellow members for their help. For instance, when I needed to change the headlamp bulb on my Mk2 Octavia, I didn't really believe the owner's manual that said you had to take out the whole headlight unit. However, some diligent person had taken a whole load of photos that explained the process clearly and the whole job just took a few minutes.

 

Having passed my driving test over 40 years ago now, I can't believe how things have changed. I suppose I am less prepared to get my hands dirty these days but all of those little jobs I spent Sunday mornings doing in the 1980s seem not to be required nowadays. Mind you, I used to be able to change a headlight bulb in literally two minutes without needing any help or wishing that I had smaller hands, so it is not all a one-way trip.

 

Actually, I always pretty useless with car engines, suspension and the like and am now even more useless, so I would also like to say thank you in advance to people who will help me in the future, as sadly I will be more of a taker than a giver.
