Rust on sills

Featured Replies

Hi guys, doing some maintenance on my 06 vrs, car has 125k and i do 30k+ per year.

First of all is my rusty sills. Stonechip underneath is fine but where it joins the paint it is flaking off and rusting. Is this a diy fix? Its a black vrs, whats the paint code?

Secondly is my timing belt, it was done 50k ago. Should i give it another 10k then change?

Lastly is the wishbone bushes and console bushes, am i right thinking it would be easier just to change the full wishbones? Im going to fit eibach springs so will change topmounts at same time. Diy job on axel stands?

Cheers guys.

The paint code is on a sticker under the boot carpet and on a duplicate sticker in the service book if you have it.

We have just done this within the past few weeks, Black Fabia VRS, ground down the rust painted RED LEAD and then covered with Black Hamerite, looks tidy except I need to get the masking tape off and clean up.

hammerite will need two coats, its pretty useless
