Remap advice needed asap please!

Featured Replies

Hi I have a fabia vrs which I bought and it had been remapped. However this was done with standard turbo intercooler etc.

I have had a few turbo issues and now have an upgraded turbo pierberg kkk hybrid. Also changed intercooler to a bigger universal.

Do I need to or should I have it remapped again?? I really do not know.. any advice will beach appreciated.

Thanks in advance

For more power yes, ideally you'd get the map adjusted for the cooler anyway. Do you know who mapped it to start with?

It was the previous owner. He done it himself. I'm not to fussed on more power to be honest

Personally I'd want to have it mapped by someone reputable, there is a chance the turbo has been pushed too hard by a spiky map. You could put it on a rolling road and see what the torque and power curve is like but tbh for the sake of a couple of hundred quid I'd just get a new map on it, 180bhp on that setup would be nice and smooth.

I have had few problems with turbos onto 4th one in 5 month. 2nd hybrid due to foreign objects.

It has got a piper cat back exhaust system and egr deleted. I have found that I have a slight whistle when idling however it's not loud. Is this normal.

Bit paranoid due to having spent over £1000 to get to the stage I'm at now.

Thanks

Standard 1 gave up then replaced with standard 1 again this then failed due to over speeding put this down to remap.

Replaced with hybrid, but gave in due to foreign objects. Had that repaired fitted it and again foreign objects. Traced it to the intercooler been full of small metal filings.

Now onto this one so very paranoid. Not going to get my money back on what I paid so not worth selling. Don't want to put money into remap if it's not gonna help

So have you changed the map since the over spinning?

No map is the same one that was on the car when I bought it

I'd get it looked at by a tuner and adjusted accordingly. Shark or Faboka are my recommendations

Bloody hell... Could just do it right the first time and save a lot of money!

Take all the pipe work and intercooler off and clean it! Take the airbox out and clean that with a new air filter.

Change the oil and oil filter as well as oil feed pipe to the turbo.

Or if you want to be 100% sure like me and run an engine flush for a little bit, remove the sump and oil pickup and clean out the strainer on the pickup to maximise oil pressure!

In that case I'd be getting the mapped sorted for sure.

It was done everything was cleaned out thoroughly oil and filter changed every time. Same as oil feed pipe every time.

That's why it is so annoying as you ca imagine..
