does anyone else get a hoover like noise in their vRS if they're parked up with the engine running and it's up at full temp (90), but it goes on for about 20 seconds and goes off again, then goes on again after a few minutes etc...

its the SAI pump, its to preheat the catalytic converter. shouldnt be coming on when warm though

yeah was thinking it was that, it fires up every now and then when idleing, makes people turn around and look whenever it comes on hah! its pretty loud too!

as in a fan that might be there to cool it down before it overheats?

Yes fixed to radiator (you cant miss it)
