Hi Briskoda buddies,

The title says it all really - following the success of our online 'quote and buy' system for Chris Knott Breakdown Cover we've placed our popular 3-year GAP Cover online too.

GAP Insurance QUOTE link: https://www.chrisknott.co.uk/GAP

In the event of a total loss claim (a write-off), Chris Knott GAP Cover pays the difference between your motor insurer's settlement amount and the original net invoice selling price or the finance early repayment figure (whichever is the greater). Effectively this cover enables you to remove depreciation from any total loss claim in the next 3 years and ensures you really can buy a better replacement.

You can arrange cover today on any car you've purchased in the last 90 days (club car or not) and if the vehicle is less than 8 years old with less than 80,000 miles on the clock.

You are still welcome to call us on 0800 917 2274 but if you'd prefer to do it all online please visit https://www.chrisknott.co.uk/GAP

best regards,

Nick

Main dealer wanted £10 a month off me, and was NOT happy to take no for an answer either.

Sales manager was summonsed to try and persuade me even!

That'd be £360 then.

There was a Radio 4 programme recently and the expert being interviewed concluded that consumers should not buy GAP from a car dealer. He even went as far as to advise listeners to get it through a broker for best value.

I'll see if I can find a link to the interview.

Very enlightening, and not a million miles away from my experience.

Quite aggressively pushed and HAD to take the brochure away with me for 'serious consideration'.

Was talking to a blokejust yesterday morning, who had just taken delivery of a brand new Land Rover Defender from a main dealer in Chester, and on his own admission, he hadn't read the finance document thoroughly until he got home.

It's had an almost unbelievable £1000 of GAP insurance  ADDED to it!!!  :o

I'm sure this can't be right and suggested so to him, but he insists it's correct.

Advised him to go back for a full explanation.

He's also going to complain about the paint and interior treatment for £400 that he also allegedly didn't ask for or know about.

I don't think he's been listening whilst all this nonsense has been being relayed to him, but who knows.

Absolutely outrageous if it's all true.

If it's an insurance policy that provides the GAP cover element, he has a 14 day cooling off period at the least and a very good case for mis-selling if it wasn't mentioned to him, he didn't ask for it and he doesn't want it.
