headlight bulbs

What bulbs do I use in standard elegance headlights? Im looking at

Upgrading to some bluey white bulbs to match led drls ive added to my car.

My handbook lists H7, H1 & H8 (for filament lamps that is).

I believe (though have not personally checked) H7 is dipped, H1 is main and if fitted, H8 is Fog.

Can anyone confirm please?

I think main beam/DRL/side light is an H15 bulb, hard to find replacements that are non-OEM, though LEDperf.co.uk do them.

The H15s used for the main beam seems to have 3 functions

1.drl

2.side

3.main

Does anybody know of a decent upgrade bulb which is whiter than the standard bulb

Where did you get you DRL's, what is the spec, cost etc. Were they east to fit, any canbus errors etc

I would really like to replace the standard DRL bulbs with led, but I have mostly read that you get errors with them.

There must be someone on here that has done this sucessfully?

On the octavia 3 you can correctly code for led bulbs in you fogs or DRL's, So no bulb errors.

I have LEDs in my 4 fog lights and they ping up an error on the dash - quick VCDS session and the error light is gone :-)

Aftermarket LED strip connected to ignition on live....easy and no errors.

Very nice. Just got my Elegance a few weeks ago here in Oz and would like some nice LED DRL's. Links to source and install guide would be much appreciated

Ebay for the led strip..tinted fogs and then just stuck on leds.As for wiring, wired into lights, if you do it right they stay on when ignition on, just usevoltage tester to find permanet live when ignition is on
