I find it much about the same, but I have gone from a Manual to a dsg.

I had a MK2 2005 1.9 TDi a while ago, How does that compare to the 1.6TDi?

New car has a different engine. Same power and torque peaks as Mk2 CR unit but both peak figures likely delivered over a wider rev range. Car is a reasonable chunk lighter than the equivalent mk2 also so should go a bit better than a mk2 1.6 TDi 105.

I have a 2.0 150 TDi manual Mk3 and is as quick if not slightly quicker real world than the Mk2 vRS Blackline DSG I had before it despite the difference in power and torque output.....the Mk3 weighs approx 140kgs less than the equivalent mk2 vRS TDi.

Id expect with the better power delivery and lower kerb weight a Mk3 1.6 TDi 105 is probably not a great deal slower than a Mk2 CR 140 real world.

I've driven both and the mk3 feels quicker than the mk2 1.6tdi.

There's the 105 bhp 5 speed on the "standard" trim levels and the 110bhp 6 speed on the greenline.

As the Mk3 is a lighter car I'd expect to see an improvement over the Mk2 on the normal car and the Greenline should do even better.

MK3 is better than a MK2 in many ways.

As for fuel the MK3 will be better as a bit lighter and better aerodynamics. Not massive though.
