Last day of Yeti ownership - a few thoughts

Like yourself am about to switch from a 1.2 yeti to an octavia. Can I ask what octavia you've gone for?

Good to hear some positives on the 1.2

Hatch, Elegance, 1.6 diesel, race blue - standard apart from LED rear lights and spare wheel.

I chose one that was built and waiting at the port - there were a good few available in hatch or estate, and with a range of colours, options and engines...there were at least 8 cars that would have suited me.

This is one of those things in life where you can say - '  Been there, Done that, Wasn't bad, An experience gained ' which was exactly my reaction after a Med Cruise last year.

Like yourself I've gone for the 1.6 elegance hatch in metal grey and had the winter pack and spare. When I ordered it the car was at Grimsby hoping to pick it up on 3rd June as unable to get to the dealer any sooner.

Nice little review and glad you've staying in the Skoda stable :)

Very interesting, I have a feeling your car was one that was on my shortlist and you ordered the day before me.

My dealer made me a list of al the 1.6 and 2.0 diesel elegances in hatch and estate that were in the port, and I made a shortlist of your car and the one I chose, went away to sleep on it and in the morning rang up having decided on the race blue one only to be told "just as well as the metal grey one has gone"

Good to know it's gone to a good home!

I changed my 59 plate 1.2 yeti for a 13 plate 1.4 Octavia estate. The fit and finish in the octy is better but I find it doesn't handle as well and the yeti is much easier to drive and easier to get in and out of. I changed for the extra space and power and I get better fuel economy and cheaper tax. However I do miss the quirky looks of the yeti as it is quite unique. The octavia is a little bland. I dare say some time in the future of may have another yeti if they can make the small tsi's more efficient.

I considered an Octavia for my next company car, however the lease cost was significantly more for a similar spec.

I would have had to contribute a significant amount myself towards the Octavia, yet ad getting a bonus cashback with the Yeti.

The Yeti is worth so much more second hand that the lease cost is very competitive.

I looked at a number of options before deciding on another Yeti, the clincher being the great spec and car for a very reasonable lease cost. (I had to contribute towards the cost of my current standard elegance. The replacement Greenline Elegance with some expensive extras is much cheaper than my lease cost allowance.)
