The power steering fluid is underneath the battery. It appears to be a nightmare to check having to remove the battery and anything else in that area, then refit the battery...

 

Should the power steering fluid ever need checking?

It shouldn't as I'm pretty sure it's electric. But then I could be wrong.

You still have fluid, it is just you are unlikely to be checking it.

Just go by the Warning light.

Not that easy to access.

Only time I check it is before and after trackdays and of course when changing brake pads discs etc.

Thanks for the advice. I don't know if it's the same on other engines but on my 1.2 12v htp the power steering fluid is on the right hand side under the battery, I guess i'll not worry about it until a warning light comes on...
