L&K Wing Mirror

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of a cheaper source for the wing mirror glass for a L&K 2014 Skoda Superb, my lovely one week old car had its passenger mirror taken off by a bus.

Replacement parts from the dealer all seemed fairly reasonable £30 for new cover & lens, but the real killer a new mirror glass £220 so as claiming from London Transport is a nightmare I'm trying to get it fixed as cheaply as possible so any suggestions would be most welcome.

As it is the buses fault then make them pay for it even if you have to wait a bit.

Ouch! Well, my understanding is that the L&K has auto-dimming of the mirror glass. If you don't mind going without that functionality then pretty much any of the eBay ones for £10-15 should do the trick. The blue tinted ones are ok-ish for re-creating a dimming effect, and make sure you get the correct replacement: flat, concave, or convex.

EDIT: quick search on eBay for you, and these should keep you up and running:

Use my DIY guide on fitting puddle lights to get the old glass off and the new one on, post #22:

Good suggestions by JakeBlade and I do not think it would be unreasonable to either fit a temp and claim it as it is an emergency safety issue plus get their details and phone them up to state that.

Best of luck.

Thanks for the replies, I'm not really bothered about the auto dipping as I don't do loads of night time driving.

But the central fixing part on the mirror glass on my version is a round, and the ones on Ebay look different but I suppose if they don't fit I can always send it back.

The £25 looks like it should fit, and has the connections for the heated pad, and looks to have the locating clips (the two long plastic clips that come out the back) in the right place. The cheaper one in hindsight looks fit for the bin... whilst it has a heat pad, there are no connecting points for it, and it doesn't look like it has the two plastic prongs on the back.

Go for the £25 one.

There doesn't seem to be much choice out there for the mk2 Superb.
