What symptoms suggest you have a problem? Poor running , poor economy etc. Just because you smell fuel may not mean it is or mixed with oil. If you check by removing oil fill cap that can smell odd as top of engine is mixed with condensation and other vapours from the breathing system. So perhaps you are worried over nothing.

It dose idel weird. Bounces from 750 to 800. And She is drinking alot of fuel at the moment, roughly cost me 15 quid for a 40 mile trip. Hopefully it's nothing to big, all I've had is trouble since I've brought it.

Rev's rising and dropping sounds to me petrol/air mixture fault, too much or too little of air-petrol ?

If getting lots of problems, suggest sell car and really test-out your next vehicle..

Was the level higher than it should have been.

Rather that speculation you need to get your car plugged into diagnostics. Then come back here for advice.

The level was fine, just slightly under the full mark.

I plan to get it plugged on the weekend. Was just wondering if anyone has had this problem before, and knew what it was.
