Whats the silver part called. Its more visable in the second pic. There appears to be oil all over it.

EGR?

Thought petrol engines didnt have these?

I just had a quick look on google, indeed the 1.8t has an egr valve, i thought it did as was looking at the sai delete the other day.

Any ideas as where this oil has come from. Would it be the egr its self?

Its the combi valve for the SAI i believe.

    And the 1.8T does not have a EGR

    Is this bit removed when the sai is deleted?

    Yes you replace it with a blanking plate

    Ah the forge one? Could it be leaking? There seems a fair bit of oil there.

    That area always looks oily
