Jeez, what is it with this thread - give the OP a hard time?   How about nice posts or none at all?

**** that, if you drive towards me blinding me, you get whatever random crap comes to hand thrown at your car, however cool you think you look.

metlovas,

When you say your FIRST car, do you mean your first car or first Skoda. If it's your first ever car then it's a brilliant place to start, but vinyl roof...Noooooo!

Why are certain people giving this guy a rough ride ?

As has been said - we are all different, have different ideas and cars

It would be Soooo boring if we all had standard/factory spec vehicles - there would almost be no need for this forum !

Mod away - but, stay safe/legal

Let us know how your tuning goes ?

Yes that's what I meant, this is my first ever vehicle, so just trying everything really, to make her look better or different ;)

I'm just thinking to wrap the roof with black gloss, but don't know yet, if I'm doing it :D

Cheers

I think a black roof would look odd. Change the badges for the latest black ones and have the door handles chromed.

Yes I didn't really expected that kind of action, but as you say as well, it would be boring to have just standart vehicles, some mods works out good some not so good

I will be still moding with some bits and peaces

And yes yesterday I've putted them purples in a draw, so road legal now :)

Cheers for your support

As I said don't know about wrapping, probably I won't ;)

But about chrome bits don't know cause I'm thinking to black them up, I'm not a fan of a chrome really :)

But yes thanks for advices

Fully agreed with the sentiments of many on here, and totally agree that everyone is entitled to mod away as they want. At the end of the day the car is his and his alone.

The point I made earlier on about the lights was purely saying that the bulbs fitted to the car were not only illegal, but would cause major issues with other drivers when used at night. This colour of bulb may look "good" to the OP, but seriously comprises the safety of himself and others due to distraction, reduced light output and certain dazzle, and driving the car would be like waving a banner from the roof saying "come on Mr.Policeman, look at me, I'm ready and waiting to get pulled here."

Same with tinted rear lights -- all a tint does is reduce light output, not what you want in rain or bad visibility. Compromising safety of the back of your car, or the front of mine when I can't see you, isn't in my eyes really appropriate.

As far as the suggestion of the black vinyl roof goes, well, I'm not going to comment again about that, except to ASK the OP nicely PLEASE don't do it. The car is your first car and I know you will be very proud of it (and rightly so, it's a lovely motor), but PLEASE don't ruin it

Mike

Thanks Mike

Could we just forget them headlights, cause they are not on a car anymore ;)

You will be still able to see my car from the back, as I said they are not as dark as you think when it's dark

Then wrapping I'm putting away for good ;), just though it might look good, but I guess I'll stay with standard roof :D

I do love this motor so I'll try not to ruin her :)

Precisely, but I am being lambasted for being a 'Victor Meldrew' now, along with a few others it seems, JUST because we DARE to critisise.

Yet another example of this PC nonsense we've been ranting about recently elsewhere.

Watch out for those egg shells everyone. .

Yes,, just shut up and DO NOT say anything that might possibly upset or offend anyone.

This is just typical of the  PC society we now live in, so poster, beware....ffs! :wall:

ANYTHING that compromises the safety of my travel, and that includes this ridiculous and downright crazy irresponsible  'tinting' of the rear light cluster, no matter how much the OP tries to convince us that.... 'it's not too tinted'....  is going to get it, BOTH barrels from me simply because it's downright bloody dangerous.

Look chum, you do what you want to the rest of your car as I really couldn't give a monkeys chuff, but DO NOT be endangering the lives and safety of other road users

Thanks for all opinions as I said ;)

+1 ( but not PC to add ffs :D )

Patience wearing a bit thin Mike, sorry.

Think that's the first time I've done that in here tbh.

WOW, 22 years old and a car like that! I wished I'd had something as nice as this when I was 22.................

At 22, I was driving around in a 12 year old Cortina!

Mike

The reason is insurance price, I was surprised about how low it was for SuperB, and I mean of course first I was looking at polos, fabias and so on and then I checked for SuperB cause I really liked this car since it was launched, got a chance and got it :)

Cheers

@ Mike.....Indeed.(forgot to quote)

As previously said...several times now, I am giving the lad a bit of slack and not making any comments about his idea of 'customisation ', as I REALLY don't care how his car looks...it's his to do as he pleases.

He can cover it in turf and play football matches on it for all I care.

I've merely been trying to get my point over about the SAFETY angle of the rear lights, and that is all, so all these PC do gooders coming in here TELLING us to back off, tell you what, YOU DO THE SAME ey... from US.

Don't apologise, it's by no means a criticism! Sorry I just couldn't resist it!

We're all entitled to our views, and as Kes has said, that is what he wanted when he posted in the first place. The very fact that he asked in the first place means that he was going to get conflicting and possibly aggressive views from other members, and folks mustn't get upset or surprised when views that differ from their own are expressed.

Knowing now that Kes is only 22 just strengthens my view that he has a car to cherish there, and I would hate to see him in a situation where the law is against him and he's risking prosecution every time he drives and enjoys it.

22 and a 58 plate Superb Elegance DSG? That commands respect.

Mike

Big thanks Mike

Been working hard to get her, but my God was worth it :)

And the other reason to get a SuperB was her size, cause I'm 6"5, so in other cars, no one could fit behind me :D

I just love my SuperB

I don't know how seriously the rozzers take this problem of rear lense tinting, but I did see one chav getting pulled over and told to change his blacked out rear lights or face the penalties, on one of these motorway cops type progs.

Yes but I used a fly eye wrap, it's not a tint film like they always use to tint them,

With this wrap they are MOT certified and could be used even on headlights, but don't get me wrong, I'm not going to do that ;)

I just like the way it finishes the car

"I DON'T BELIEVE IT" So no berating of the guy who will throw objects at your car if you distract him at all, mmmmmm interesting.

Why would he throw objects, there's no purples no more on a car, so how do I distract?

Look mate.

I haven't got the foggiest what you're going on about regarding this fly wrap stuff, as I'm not remotely interested in it.

All I am saying is that it reduces the light output by even a fraction, that has got to be bad in my view, so don't come crying when something rams into the back of you on a foggy night.

Rear ights are there for a very good reason and not something to be numbed and darkened  down just because you don't like the colour red.

I'm struggling to believe some of the tripe being spouted in here, but hey ho, I'm entitled to my opinion....I think...maybe...maybe not now, who knows, who actually cares?  :notme:

What I'm saying is, that wrap don't reduce the light going thro as bad as them films, obviously it does reduce a bit, but they are still bright enough

And I do appreciate your opinion

Peace
