Wheel spacer dilemma again get

Featured Replies

Right I've trawled the depths of the forum and still scratching my head regarding front spacers for my FL I have standard wheels on and 15mm spacers on rear on lowering springs and im wanting to do the front . I gather through my research that 10mm is fine for the front but I cannot get any hubcentrics as my hub centre sticks out 12mm . I just don't know what to do its a right cafuffle . New wheels are not a option by the way. Any advice is much appreciated

I was lead to believe the rear track is 20mm less than the front, hence people only space the rears so car looks more even.

Wouldn't spacing the front push wheels out even further... Id have thought it look daft?

Looks dafter with back wheels flush with arches and front tucked in. ;)

That's why I don't run spacers atall... Kinda freak me out the idea of using them..

However, I'm confused by one thing, do you really think front wheels are tucked in? Kinda one of my pet hates with the octavia, fronts look too far out??

Sorry bud..no offence, just natter ;)

No offence taken..Look ace on mk1 always thought mk2 body was too big for the chassis.;)

the front, even though with a wider track than the rear, is tucked in.

I've got 12mm hubcentrics on the rear, and nothing up front.

The front track is 1528mm the rear is1508mm, I put 20mm H/C spacers on the rear giving  1548mm. fulls the wheel arch nicely and I like the look. Thinking of putting thinner spacers on the front but have concerns on handling being as it might alter caster angles and steering. not that clued-up on that part.

Nice post on this thread http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/racing-and-drivers-education-forum/626833-impact-of-wheel-spacers-on-front-geometry-and-handling.html

I agree now JR, now mines lowered fronts are nicely tucked in . Prior to lowering they stuck out

I have read the thread, Heavy reading. What i would like to add is that there is considerable difference in adding spacers as to adding wider wheels, Adding spacers moves the wheel centre out and alters the geometry, fitting wider wheels should keep the geometry constant this is in my simple terms.
