Issue with 5 day old car

Featured Replies

I had a warning message displayed on the car about a number plate bulb. Took it to dealers for a quick replacement of bulbs but they think its an electrical wiring issue as the bulbs look okay. They need a day to investigate it further and the car is booked in for 13th. Absolutely Gutted.

Has anyone had any such issue before? Any experts here could suggest

Thanks

Jose

Not had that one but I occasionally get an error telling me to check the right hand dipped beam.  It goes away after a restart. My dealer can't see why so rather than give them the car back for a few days I'll live with it.

Hi ljose,

I have never had this issue. Could be a simple earthing problem somewhere I guess.

Skovig the problem you described is a well know issue on the Octavia III and you need to get the headlight controller replaced. There is a technical bulletin out for this. Your dealer should know all about it .

As above, I had this once on a tail light, fixed in five minutes by a knowledgable dealer, earthing problem

Regards all

Thank you all for the replies. The warning message goes away with restart but reappears when the headlights are turned on. and both lights on number plate is not working. My dealer has now prioritised the issue and the car is going in on 2nd of June instead of 13th. Hope its just an earthing problem.

But that's a known problem and there's a technical bulletin for dealers with a fix which is to replace the controller.

Surprise, the warning message got disappeared over the weekend and number plate lights started working. Took it to dealers and they think its due to a loose connection/wiring. They have rectified it and got the car back.
