My friend was able to remove the seat covers from her 2001 Polo and machine wash them. Anyone tried to do this on the normal seats of a Fabia ? She followed a DIY guide that looked something like this one. It would be pretty interesting because the previous owner of my car was a smoker and I have a few holes in my seat covers, maybe I could replace them or .. fix them somehow. I don't like the after market seat covers and replacing the seats would not be an option also.

I think the issue is that they have holes in from cig burns

If you look in the for for sale or even free section I'm pretty sure someone had some standard seats or covers they were getting rid of not long back

If you read all of the thread you will get an idea of cost (v.low), and looking at it might even be a straight job of replacing the foam with covers attached rather than having to strip it all.
