iPhone charge from USB

Featured Replies

Hi guys, is the USB socket man enough to charge iPhone 5 and above (the ones with the lightning connector) as I have had problems in the past with USB,s not giving out the required current ?

Cheers

Seems to charge mine OK, with no errors/complaints.

Yes it's fine for iPhones 5s', iPads and everything I've thrown at it so far

Yeah, I have no problem with my iPhone 5 and iPad.

I have had a little bit of trouble charging my IPhone via USB. Sometimes it just stops charging. I have to turn the ignition of and back on again to make it charge.

The USB port will try to supply 5v, iPhones I believe operate on a very slightly different voltage but the internals of the phone will deal with it and effectively be supplied with the correct voltage.

You'll probably just find it takes forever to charge as the connection will no doubt be fairly low amperage.
