Noise when turning right or left to get in path

Recommended Posts

Hi

I would appreciate some help from members.  I drive a Fabia 2013 1.6 TDI CR Elegance Estate and when turning slowly right or left to get in my path, there is a noise which seems to indicate that there is something loose under the bonnet but as usual, the dealer could not find the source of noise!  I do not think it is the steering rack?

Thanks

My Monte is going into the dealers on Saturday (7th) for the same thing only happens on full lock but mine sounds like it's coming from the wheel well (could be because it's lowered with different alloys) I'm sure my dealer will sort it, they haven't let me down yet!

Diesel, can you explain more precisely what the noise sounds like? We don't have much to go on in your post. The nature of the noise can dictate what part/s are causing it...ie: a screeching noise, knocking noise, squeaking noise etc...

Hi Estate Man

I think I have solved fault.  Since buying the car the noise has reduced, now done 25K in 14 months and the mechanic, managed to get one who knows, stated a number of customers complain about this.  The answer is the drive shaft boots when new are very stiff and the belows shaped sections rub together when turning but as the rubber / plastic compound gets old, material get malleable i.e. softens and noise reduces.
