Fitting Creation Motorsport Short Shift

Featured Replies

I am having some issues fitting a creation motorsport, I can't seem to get the nut off the top of the original, it just seems to spin.

Does anybody have any ideas please

What are you using to try to loosen the nut, a socket or a spanner?.

Using a socket, have tried a spanner but difficult to get in, I can't see anything slipping or stopping the nut coming off, it's confusing

I normally use a hex socket (not a star type socket) and give it a reasonable tap down onto the nut with a copper faced mallet to make sure it grips the nut.

If you are certain that the nut is spinning, you could try applying a little upwards leverage on the standard lever with the hope it may start the thread  again and allow it to come off.

Having said that, you will probably definitely want a new nut, and you may have to run a die down the shaft to try to reclaim the thread if it is damaged.
