Continental ContiSportContact 5

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am looking at getting our vRS new set of boots, and I stumbled upon ContiSportContact 5 - found them for around 120EUR a tyre. They have great reviews but are they worth the cost in general?

There are a few threads on here regarding tyre change for Fabia  vrs mk2 .

Generally, I would point you to the test done last year by Autoexpress, that might help in your decision making process, along with member views.

Im in the same boat as you needing 2 fronts, these look a bit soft (wearing down 4mm in 7000 miles) and the noise is high too !

the "5's" do very well inmagazine tyre tests...

I had them on my Octavia Blackline to replace the very quickly worn sport contact 2's it came with and were alot better. Good grip and didnt seem to wear anything like as quickly.

Goodyear have a range which more than compete with the Contis

In fact in my experience, on my partners Fabia vRS  surpassed them on both wear and noise levels

My Conti's wore well and gripped OK on Fabia2 1.6. Most reviews say they are a good compromise between grip and wear rate.

i found the sport 5 to be very grippy and good in the wet but (i use winters too) im guessing they only lasted me about 8k and im not an aggressive driver, so for the money id be disappointed if id paid for them (car came with these)

I've now put falkens on and at half the price they feel as good to me as the contis did and id be really surprised if they didn't last as long
