Posting a steering rack

Featured Replies

Guys, any ideas for the cheapest way to send a octy steering rack ?

Without the steering arms attached it's inside the size max for myhermes. (120cm long)

I have sent a rack this way with no arms.  Was about £10 I think.  Pain in the backside to get wrapped up properly though which is why I will always go with cash on collection (or delivery if I am passing)

Ok, cheers jason

Im guessing ud have to bung it up to so dont leak anything

I've found Yodel to be pretty good, despite some horror stories. Everything car-related that I have recently sold on ebay, I have delivered with Yodel, and the items have arrived, undamaged and on time.

Also, you can take the absolute **** with their weight and dimension limits :D

For example, if I entered the true dimensions of the steering rack that I recently sent with them, on their website, it was apparently too wide. However, all I did was just bring the width down until the website gave me a quote, and it was delivered halfway up the country for about a tenner!

Arrived fine at the other end.

I've also weighed stuff, found it to be 20kg put sent it as 10kg. Again, no problems :D

When I packed it, I strapped the rack and steering arms to a long, scrap bit of wood so that the whole unit was rigid. I then wrapped the lot in cardboard and used a load of parcel tape to make it a 'fully taped' parcel.
