So the Monte is a year old today. I've done just under 15000 totally trouble free miles (bugger that's probably done it now!)

I love the car and it is perfect for my needs. HOWEVER I am getting itchy feet to change already partly for the sake of a change and partly due to doing a few more miles per anum than envisaged and as a result being over on miles on my PCP!

I have the option to change both car and financing method in one go and I am looking at a Rapid 1.2TSI. I can finance a 1 year old Rapid with deposit from savings for less than I am currently paying on a PCP and in 2 years time will own the car rather than hand back the Fabia to Skoda.

Obviously Mpg will be poorer but the overall cost including monthly finance will be broadly similar with the benefit of outright ownership at the end. This is by virtue of a particularly good residual value on the Monte and a somewhat less good one on the Rapid this benefits me now and doesn't worry me longer term at firstly the Rapid as a 1 year old car has already taken the 'hit' and also I suspect that with the arrival of a new Fabia within a year the Montes residuals will take a tumble.

Is my logic flawed or am I missing something. Any advice or comments welcome.
