Front electric window crunchy noise & won't fully close

Featured Replies

I have read many, many posts but I cannot decide what the problem is.

Front electric window works perfectly going down, starts to struggle with a crunchy noise about 3/4 way up and stops and clicks, as though it is fouling or hitting something.

I have sprayed the runners with a silicone spray.

I have had the metal panel off but cannot see any obstruction.

Any advise greatly appreciated.

Take the door card off and wind it up and down so you can see it working. Possibly frayed cables?

Unscrew the motor and gently remove  you will reveal the spool >  look for frayed wires.

Frayed cables! Get ready for a new carrier mechanism!! Not expensive but a bit of a pain in the backside!

Thanks all, I have ordered a replacement panel.

you can get the repair kits off ebay for about £15, not that much of a potch to fit, takes longer to get the carrier off :D
