Dashboard problem!

Featured Replies

Hey, just found this forum, looks brilliant from what ive read.

I'm havin bother with my mk1 1.9sdi octavia dashboard. My digital readout of miles and trip miles only comes on when I turn the ignition as if on a switched live and the trip resets itself everytime. After a bit of investigating, I found there was a fuse missing from my fuse box. Bought fuses and put one in an the digital readout is on a constant live but when I pull away, my rev counter and speedo both die an sit at zero. Any help would be appreciated.

Common problem on Octavia dashboards usually caused by dry joints on the 2 voltage regulators. There's a detailed post on this forum somewhere on how to fix the problem, but the work around is to pull fuse 5 or 15, can't remember which. Unfortunately this causes the trip to reset when the ignition is cycled.
