Audi TT upper strut brace

Featured Replies

Hi all I want to fit a TT strut brace I acquired a while back. But been looking at it today and where I think it should go there is always a spot weld in the way. Now I'm not to up for removing a spot weld just to fit it has anyone found a better way many thanks

I'm not too sure what you mean there buddy. I have the upper brace fitted to mine and I didn't have issues with spot welds. Just lay the brace across the two suspension turrets, mark the 3 points on either side were the holes are gonna be and start drilling. Its nerve wracking doing the first hole but the rest are no bother.

If you look around the turret top there are quite a few spot welds and no real room between them to avoid going through one

I drilled through one and nothing has collapsed or fell off in 5 years.

Underneath there is like a cup. Its probably for strength. I think that's what the welds are. But like mentioned, your gonna be putting a bolt through there. It might cause issues if you removed the brace later on but I've never heard anyone say that part has fell off. Go for it!!
