Bouncy Door Locks (new locking mechanism)

Featured Replies

Ive just changed my drivers door locking mechanism because the micro switch was knackery but now the drivers door won't lock when you start driving.  All the doors lock but the drivers and passengers door locks bounce back up.  Anyone have any ideas.

Also the exterior door handle lock is not as tight as it used to be, its appears to be quite loose.

Thanks

Forgot to mention that its a new part. The drivers and passengers locks bounce back up when you double lock the doors. Ive checked both doors and they are open.

Just been playing with locking and unlocking the car from inside.  The front doors will lock if you keep locking and unlocking them.  This can take from 3 attempts to 15 attempts.

Any ideas?

If you don't find a solution, why not use the old locks using the micro switches from the new units.

Thats what I'm not far off doing.  Ive had both mech's out, side but side.  Locked them both and plugged each one in.  The old one opens, locks and deadlocks fine.  The new one opens and locks fine but when you double press the key fob to deadlock the door it bounces back open.

mine does the same but I have replaced 3 out of 4 due to the old locks dead locking and therefore replaced the other one as a good measure, i am assuming that it is a possible VCDS  glitch with the door lock programing and the new locks, so my next port of call is someone with VCDS and a Total reset of the central locking to factory settings, hopefully this will work if not then ill live with it.
