Skoda touch-up set

Featured Replies

Wasn't sure which forum to post this in.

I've got a chip on the rear spiler and two small ones on the bonnet that I'd like to sort out. Last year I purchased one of the genuine Skoda repair kits, however on investigating today there is absolutely no English instructions on it at all :)

So I'm assuming there is a paint and a lacquer in this kit - well one is definitey paint, assuming that "bezbarvy kryci lak" is lacquer.

So assuming no rust it would be a mtter of getting some paint on there and then building up layers of lacquer - allowing drying times in between layers?

Or do you build up layers (where required) with paint and then a single lacquer layer once finished?

Never had the need to do this before!

Cheers.

Make sure you shake very well and use the smallest amount of paint. Dont try to do in one go do a layer one day and another at least 5 hours after then the next day lacquer. Practise on a small piece of plastic and if you have metalic paint it needs to be shaken in between each individual chip

OK, sounds clear enough, cheers :)

I chop the end off a matchstick at an angle to get tiny drops of paint into the chip.

Or a very small artists brush, matchsticks are cheaper!

The supplied brush is way over the top.

The little red caps pull out of the lid to reveal a little metal bristled brush to clear away any surface rust first.
