Wishbone

Featured Replies

Hi I am sure that this has been posted about before if so I am sorry but I am new to the forum, Forgive me....

I have a Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDI MK1 ALH The front wishbone bolt just spins due to the bolt/sub frame fixing is spinning, I do not want to make any hole bigger I just wondering if I was to remove the sub frame bolt next to this fixing would I have the room I need, if anybody has got a better and or a way than not cutting holes or making holes bigger in the sub frame. This is also the same set up as the golf mk4

I'm presuming you've had the wishbones out and trying to refit? That bolt threads into the subframe behind the wishbone. If you've stripped the thread, which it sounds like you have, you'll need to take the wishbone back out and retap the it. Or buy another subframe.

Hi thanks for your reply the captive nut came lose when undoing the bolt, I got about one turn on it then the captive nut on the back side just started spinning, the weld has broken, holding the captive nut.... I really don't want to drill a bigger hole or cut a flap
