I'm trying to update the unit or seeing if there is an update, I've downloaded "Garmin Express" assuming that's the right program but the thing won't find my device when it's plugged in, any suggestions? Or should I just give up completely

I think you need to download Navigon Fresh for all of these.

Seriously, sometimes my Samsung phone is the same when I hook it up to the PC then after numerous tries it gets there in the end.

GARMIN EXPRESS!  I have a Garmin Nuvi with life time maps update and that's exactly how long it takes, a lifetime!

Will I really have to use it for my wifes new Mii?

New software update available now,from version 7.13.10 to 7.14.11.Took ages to pair my phone back up to the PID.

I have to use Fresh too. Express will not find the PID. The battery keeps going flat quickly and then the PID will not respond to screen taps. Not impressed with it or the POI on it.

A list did come up at the end of the update but was all in German!.

Yes,got that too!,as I say everything is reset from the update and trying to get my Nokia set up with the PID afterwards was a right pain,took a good 30 minutes or so so normally takes a couple of minutes.

That's strange because it's in the Navigon options.

Was in the Garmin options until the latest update.

Just connected my Navigon, it's telling me my software is up to date 7.10.25 version.

Well I am seriously hacked off about that.  I paid wrong end of ten grand for a car which had a satnav with a female voice, not that sanctimonious sounding bloke that gets on my nerves.  Garmin can b****y well reinstate it or refund the cost of the PID. That, and their update causing me to lose the use of the PID for a week, making my weekend multi-stop itinerary a right pain instead of a doddle.  Garmin have always been crap at software, as anyone who has had one of their handheld GPS units can testify.

Does the update to version 7.14.11 work for all of you? After updating, my PID won't boot properly. It shows the start-up screen for a few seconds (stating the SW versions), but then goes blank, then start-up screen, then blank etc.... I have the Garmin-branded version of the PID.
