The company barge was looking a little neglected so I offered to give it some tlc in exchange for the use of it over the weekend. (Is that a bit sad??) The boss happily obliged so I got cracking this morning

Washed with AG Body shampoo, wheels done with bilberry and finished with Astonish s & s, tyres dressed with chemical guys tyre gel, polished with Turtlewax colour magic black, sealed with FK1000P, dash etc treated with AG vinyl and rubber care.

All done by hand!

The last pic looks dirty but I  think it's the flash glinting off the metallic flake in the paint...

Thank you samuir1974, I'm rather pleased with my handiwork :D Fk is nearly finished tho so looking for a replacement... Not tried a true wax before so may go for a collonite product...

Fk1000p is still one of my favourite products!

I wouldn't be without it in my collection.

Well done mate, give Collinite 845 a go, it will be something a bit different to work with but gives great results for the low cost.  Warm up the bottle in warm water if it is gloopy and then shake hard to relax the liquid, spread it very thin and buff after about 10 minutes.

Like FK1000P it is a great product to have in the locker.

Impressive looks

I would ditch the colour magic in future though

Collinite 845 is a good shout too...I highly rate it

Thanks for the comments fellas.

ChrisRS, the colour magic was purchased way back from Halfords before I started shopping online and becoming more enlightened in all things detailing, this was a good opportunity to use some up :) I am using AF triple on my black mk1 Octy at the moment, and AG srp on the white fabia. Happy with both of them.

As for a wax replacement, I will need something suitable to both black and white. Seems to me that sealants and waxes are geared to either lighter or darker colours. Saying that the FK1000p has been great on both my cars!

Anyway, considering Colly 845 as suggested, great reviews. Also looking at soft99 fusso coat as suggested in another thread, although I realise it's a synthetic sealant as opposed to having natural waxes in it. There's a great review on detailingworld for it.

Choices, choices!

Must admit I have always liked that with fk1000p.... Light or dark car, it always works wonders.

I have some fusso on order.... Promises a lot for very little money! :)

Might just order more fk :)

The fusso looks great value, look forward to your review Samuir1974.

The Dr Beasleys Is a bit rich for me, and besides I like doing this. A product like that would kill my hobby ;)

The research will continue...

How about this as an alternative?

Hope to offer this as part of a Detailing Protection package in the future

Hey Chris - do you have this product? Have you tested it as yet?

I would be interested in seeing your review on this one for sure.

Reviews seem a bit thin on the ground to back up the claims.... that's all.

No...I haven't got this yet...I wouldn't use it on mine but someone may want it as it promises good durability

It's a very new product...hence no reviews yet

Cool fair enough. Just thought you may have tested /used it before recommending it so strongly.... if that makes sense.

PS:

Any feedback on the DSG extensions btw - you didnt reply on the other thread last night?

I'm doing the paypal at 12noon to allow the guy to get the order posted out ASAP. Thx

I wasn't recommending strongly..that was not what I intended

Sorry if that was confusing

I posted it as an alternative product due to it's promised durability and ease of use

I aim to try and get a sample first if possible

No problem.... but i must admit it came across like you had sampled it.

The above comment plus the post on my AF Illusion thread gave me that impression.

When i researched - there didn't seem to be many who had tested/sampled - that's all.

We look forward to hearing more and seeing the results... when you get hold of a sample.
