Tyres - what price?

Featured Replies

My front tyres are due for replacement soon at just under 10k miles, the usual conti sport contact 2's, 225 40 18's.

The rears though still have 7mm+, almost like new and I was considering getting the Goodyears Asy's, however what price do you reckon I could sell the rear two tyres for, I was thinking £60 each, what do guys think?

On my mk2 just stuck Michelin pilot sport 3's very impressed, so grippy in the wet and seem quieter than my conti sports.

Local ATS did pair at £240 all in. Swapped my fronts to back and washed all the wheels and sprayed tyre gunk/black on them all!

Like you my Continentals lasted 10,000 miles. I ended up buying Falcons which were £73.50 each, fitted and balanced. I'm well pleased with them.

Just stick them on ebay as an auction, I have always got good money for part worns on ebay.

just ordered 2 225/40/18 conti sport contact 5's. local garage doing them for £224, only got 8700 miles out of my conti sport contact 2's that came with the car!

Ouch 8700 that's not a lot of miles from a set of tyres.

yeh, i thought the same. from what ive read though most people seem to only get 10k tops out of a set of the sport contact 2's. i dont even drive it particularly hard...

I've not been driving mine overly hard but my Conti 2's will need replacing soon too. I'm at 9k ATM - they'll probably need doing at about 10k.
