The drivers side door lock... the key just spins around and doesn't actually do anything. Any idea what part of it I need to replace?

That'll be the paddle iirc have a look on eBay for a repair kit

It looks like a paddle funnily enough and for some reason is made from chocolate not metal

I presume this is the same as other vags golfs etc
