Weird boost issue

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

My was re-mapped last sat and i also replaced the MAF (instructed by tuner). The car runs well in general and it boosts like a mofo :D .... but have noticed some odd behavior.

.. for the past few days .. when i start the car first thing in the morning and drive to work, the car is not boosting as it should. It feels like it is back to stock map or something. What i have found is if i turn the car off, then turn it back on again ... it goes back to boosting properly.

looking at my torque pro ... when the car feels sluggish i'm seeing boost of 4-6psi and when it's back to normal i'm seeing 13-16psi iirc.

Any ideas what it could be?

How longs he had it?

Only a couple of days. He said he knocked the boost levels down a bit and smoothed the curve off plus had oil chang.

@David 8 ... i did have P0172 error code. After the replacing the MAF .. the code disappeared. But issue i still present.

There is another post in the mk1 Octy forum about "Limp mode" ... the symptoms do sound close to what i have on my car. The gut checked for vacuum leaks.

I think i might do the same.
