Front central storage box

Featured Replies

Hi,does anybody know if this can be replace with the one from the octavia which has a lid on it or is it too small

Which box are you talking about? The one between the seats?

Front central(the one forward of the gear stick)not the drinks holder or the dashboard, the octavia had one with a neumatic cover

Pass then.

It isn't something I've ever seen asked in the 4+ years I've been here so it will probably need an experiment.

Do you mean the ashtray (on the Octavia)?

I think it should be possible as the centre console seems to be identical between the yeti and Octavia and the box/ashtray is part of the console.

If you try one - can you report back & let us know?

It looks the same size as the octy, but the gear shift may be a bit closer to it but can't really tell, found the closing lid handy to keep things out of sight

Trundlenut, yes you are right it is listed on superskoda as octy vrs ashtray with some good pics but if it does fit £60 is quite dear if it doesn't fit

Look the same to me. I know the ashtray is attached to the centre console.

Why not ask local dealer for the part codes?

Vagcat would be a good place to look for part numbers. Dealers are often not keen on giving out part numbers.

What ash tray?

What ash tray?

My Octavia has an ash tray beneath the lid.

That would account for my confusion, as on the Yeti the space in front of the gearlever is a small storage area, in my car full of a packet of tissues, money and generally my house keys. It would be no use as an ashtray as it isn't removable.

I would suspect that the cubby in the yeti is actually slightly bigger than the Octavia ashtray because of the space taken up by the lid, which sits flush with the gear stick surround. But I suspect they are interchangeable should you so desire.

Thanks for all the info,in the octy vrs it's called an ash tray which is strange as it's felt lined with a lid and in the yeti it's called a front storage tray but looking at trundle nuts photos the octy appears slightly larger and set back more,I will to get more info or shall I forget it and save £60?

I have a pre FL Octavia so mine has a fag lighter and actual ashtray. I think the later FL cars came with a cubby instead and plastic plunger instead of a fag lighter in the socket in the centre console.
