Temperature light fabia 1.4 16v

Featured Replies

Hello i have a skoda fabia 1.4 16v saloon 2002 bought in the last month

the temperature light appears problem!!!

sometimes the light appear when i start the car 15 20 seconds to appear, even in cold weather

sometimes it takes like 15 20 minutes to appear

coolant level is ok

temperature of coolant level is ok , at 12:00

already change the expansion bottle

im thinking of changing the temperature sensor? maybe it will solve the problem? more ideas? because im trying not to go to  a skoda garage

Did you change the expansion tank for a brand new one? A common problem is the sensor probes in the tank being dirty.

Try bridging the connector wires of the tank sensor plug. If the light no longer comes on you know it's the tank probes or connector plug/wires.

yeap, new expansion tank,  before i make this thread i do a little research in the forum and notice that problem of prongs being dirty but in my expansion tank there is no prongs in sight, it must be hidden...

i try to turn off the connector to the expansion tank, light still appear...

I had the same problem - turned out the thermostat housing was leaking (probably should have spotted that), so I changed that and the temp sensor at the same time. Problem solved. The engine management light tended to come on also though, so it may be a slightly different issue.

Yeah they are hard to see but they will be there.
