Is it handy to do glow plugs on Octavia 1.9 tdi?

Replace them?

You can for piece of mind depending when they were last done however personally i wouldn't bother until you develop starting problems.

They are pretty easy to get at on the 1.9 PD......take the plastic engine cover off and you'll see them in a row along the front of the engine.

 

Count yourself lucky you don't have a 2.0 tdi PD like me where the glow plugs are in the top of the head right between the cams.....rocker cover has to come off to replace them and two of mine have failed!....I'll maybe get round to doing them when the weather gets colder.
