Locking wheel nut - Urgent

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

The VRS is sadly departing next week for a new motor.

Due to not wanting to put new tyres on the alloys I've been driving about with my steel wheels on for the last couple of months.

Now, i had an issue with a wheel not long ago and it seems the lad at the garage has completely blitzed my locking wheel nut, probably using a torque gun set with too much shove!

Now I have a problem, because I need to get the alloys on before trading in the VRS. So the question is, where can I get myself a new locking wheel nut, preferably like.... today?

(They're black Gigaro's i that makes sod all of a difference? )

Have you tried Skoda Specialist Cars John Clark Parts Department.

 or

VW John Clark Parts Department or Even Audi Specialist Cars John Clark.

Or put the car away without a Locking Nut, just a regular one on,

if one does not arrive on time. Leave a Note in the Glove Box.

Probably a tremendously obvious and great shout, although they'll probably charge me an arm and a leg for one. I'll see what they say, cheers!

Always seems obvious, but once you ask you know. It is often the best way IMO.

If the price is ridiculous then you know if you need to go order from some place else

and possibly get it cheaper 24 hours later.

I was in a similar position with me wife's beemer. Got the wheel locking nut directly from BMW for £15 or something. I needed to pay them a visit as they have to use a master set to see which one to order.

Jabozumo where have you been hiding ? As for the nut just get a standard nut from flebay that's what I've done and cheap as chips

I ordered a locking nut for mine direct from a skoda dealers a few months ago. Think it was 32 quid.

Too much work, too much stress, too many family health problems - didn't want to spread the misery. Not turned the corner yet but with time learned to cope with it all better and decided Briskie needs my pesky self after the prolonged sabbatical :). How is your Golf doing?

I am still very happy with my vRS :).

With the locking nut for the safety bolts I simply lost mine and had to get replacement otherwise I would not be able to get the wheels off - I wrote to say really that I was pleasantly surprised with a reasonable price and how easy it was to get it.

Update:

Went to Skoda yesterday and the workshop guy was probably the most helpful person I've ever dealt with at the dealership in Aberdeen.

Unfortunately however, he came back with a frown and told me he was unable to get the bolts off. Chances are they'd have to have something welded on to get them off because they'd been put on with a torque gun. FANTASTIC!!!!!!

Obviously he couldn't do it there and then and needed it to be booked in but they can't do it in time. Said he can order me a new set but quite honestly, i'm not caring. If I can get them off and put on regular bolts instead that suits me fine. Car's being traded in in a week or so anyway.

Why is nothing ever easy?  :@
