I have the 1.9 with standard heating controls how easy would it be to fit this given that the heating controls would also need some required work and what would be needed to do this

It won't fit Skippy, that unit is a one off for the Phaeton and includes many more features to control other things on the Phaeton than just the radio,

A hacksaw, soldering iron and a canbus gateway with some serious re programming.

Alternatively, you can get LED dab RNS510 that will fit or go for an aftermarket 2DIN unit that's compatible with HEVAC & PDC messages etc.
