I have a Skoda Octavia equipped with the Amundsen SatNav and I find the screen a bit small. I didn't wanted to pay the price for a Columbus , but do you think that it's possible to change the screens ONLY , not the whole unit ? I don't think that this magnifier is compatible with the Amundsen... Anyways , is there anybody who knows the answer of my question ?

That's something I'd be interested to find out as well. If it's the same res technically I can't see why it wouldn't.

But I wouldn't put it past vag to have blocked it with component protection of some sort.

It's not the same resolution at all - the Amundsen is 400x240, and the Columbus is 800x480.  If the Columbus was the same resolution on a bigger screen, it would look worse than the Amundsen, and that wouldn't be right...!

So does anyone know if it can be done? I am interested in this too as I also find the Amundsen screen a tad small and the Columbus does fill the space much better. Obv not over keen on shelling out a few hundred quid for something I can't use!

I don't believe it can be done due to component protection. Dealers may be able to do it but would more than likely be cost prohibitive.
