Does anyone elses octavia creak and squeak when going slow on bumpy roads or over speed bumps? It seams to be the door seals, sounds like im wearing a leather bondage outfit - which i'm not, not in the car anyway ;-)

I had exactly that on my estate when it was new (2008 model). I think it was fairly common. One dealer applied some sort of silicone grease which helped, and also proved that the noise was coming from the door seal.After many visits and arguments with the dealer I eventually had them replaced under warranty and they have been OK ever since.

 

One dealer had me sit in the car and he gently pushed on the back doors from the outside which recreated the noise.

 

Probably the silicone grease is the easiest solution.

It give Boyle comes with a foam pad so no mess

On application I hog mine from eBay

autoglym vinyl and rubber care solved this on mine. I now keep bottle in boot and top up all seals now and again. It's also great on the non leather and leather bits of seats, and door cards etc. Makes things pretty silent by comparisson.

On my previous 2.0 FSi I had all seals changed under warranty, but before that Holts rubber lubricant spray helped. No such problems on my 1.8 TSi though which is also 2008.

Never thought to put anything on them. Will try that.. It does seem more like rear doors.

SlightIy off topic but the front door drop glasses on my 56 plate Octavia squeal like wailing banshees when using them on a warm day!

 

Ive tried WD40, silicone spray (and despite covering the area, spent the next hour cleaning up the over spray!), and baby oil - none of which has made any difference, apart from leaving grease marks on the glass!

 

Guess ill just have to wear ear plugs in the car on warm days!

Same issue.. I've taken my door card off as thought was the mech, but the liner is physically riveted on behind it, so can't get to anything! Living with it at min! Tbh rarely open window as climate control so good!
