Fitting the dog guard with the variable boot floor

Featured Replies

So here I am in the dark trying to fit the official Skoda "trunk grille" to an FL Estate with a variable boot floor.

I've removed the floor from its skids as per the instructions, but the boot floor skids leave no room for an allen key to screw the hex bolt to the upright supports.

I can't see anyway of removing the skids either.

I've seen plenty of pics with it fitted so I'm missing something!

Help!

I know what you mean, i had the same issue with mine. You need to take out the side supports for the variable floor. You simply rotate the hooks (one each side) that are in the "wells" on either side. they are quite tight the first time and they only need to rotate a quarter/half turn to undo. I've used the hooked end off an old scissor jack handle to undo mine. I'll take a photo if you can't follow my explanation.

Ah ha!

Success! The skids are off! :/

Many thanks :-)

For anyone else that reads this, the hooks are turned clockwise through 90 degrees to remove them. I've attached a few photos to show what I mean.

I assume Skoda providing hex bolts ~5mm too short is just part of the experience of fitting his dog guard?

Is nothing straightforward!?
